DEFINITION OF GVRHA EVENTS

 

Definition of Events

GVRHA NON SANCTIONED EVENTS - MUST BE A  FINANCIAL MEMBER OF GVRHA

GV GREEN HORSE - A two handed class restricted to horses who have NOT WON MORE THAN 3 classes AT GVRHA shows.

GV BEGINNER - A two handed class restricted to riders who have NOT WON MORE THAN 10 Beginner classes, has placed Champion or Reserve Champion in last 3 years in Rookie or is ineligible for Rookie.

ROOKIE - A ONE handed class restricted to riders who have NOT WON MORE THAN $200 Lifetime. Must ride in a bridle.

LIMITED NON PRO - A one handed class restricted to riders who have not won more than $500/year 3 year average. Must ride in a Bridle.

INTERMEDIATE NON PRO - A one handed class restricted to riders who have NOT WON MORE THAN $1000/year 3 year average. Must ride in a Bridle.

NON PRO - A one handed class open to all Non Pro Competitors.  Must ride in a bridle.

NON PRO PRIME TIMERS - A one handed class for all Non Pro Competitors of 50+ years of age. Must ride in a bridle.

NOVICE HORSE OPEN - Restricted to horses that have NOT WON MORE THAN $1,000 Lifetime. One handed in a bridle.

NOVICE HORSE NON PRO - A one handed class open to all Non Pro riders, but restricted to horses that have NOT WON MORE THAN $1,000 Lifetime.  

LIMITED OPEN - A one handed class restricted to riders who have NOT WON MORE THAN $3000 Lifetime.

INTERMEDIATE OPEN - A one handed class restricted to riders who have NOT WON MORE THAN $3000/year 3 year average.

OPEN - Open for everybody riding one handed in a bridle.

YOUTH 14 - 18YRS - For all Youth riders between the ages of 14 - 18 years. One handed in a bridle.

YOUTH 13 & UNDER - For all Youth riders 13 & under.  One handed in a bridle.

GV LADIES - For all female riders. One handed in a bridle.

GV SNAFFLE BIT - Restricted to horses aged 3 & 4 years of age ridden two handed in a snaffle bit. 

***Western attire and saddlery not compulsory in non sanctioned classes however a long sleeved shirt and hat or helmet required. (no caps)  

NRHA SANCTIONED EVENTS - RIDERS & OWNERS MUST BE NRHA MEMBERS & HORSES MUST HAVE NRHA LICENSES. REFER TO CURRENT RULE BOOK FOR CLASS DESCRIPTIONS.
